The day I walked into Planet Fitness I weighed 315 pounds. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I wanted to do something about it. Joining Planet Fitness may have saved my life. Since the first day I walked into Planet Fitness and started doing a workout program, I’ve lost 50lbs and have dropped several clothes sizes! I feel great. Everyone who sees me now tells me how good I look. All I can say to Planet Fitness is thank you for a great place to work out!
Runyon, Mortensen, and Klinger founded Anytime Fitness in 2002.[9] Eric Keller, a former employee of Southview Athletic Club was interested in their business concept and agreed to become the first franchise owner of Anytime Fitness. They provided Keller with support in choosing a site location, marketing strategies, equipment selection, and membership sales.[7]
It's fine for workouts, but customer service is mediocre. I had a lot debit card, so I had to cancel it. They don't take credit cards or cash so I had to wait for the new card. I went to the club to update my card and explain, but they charged me a penalty on top of the monthly fee. I asked if there's anyone I could talk to, but they didn't want to bother. Honestly, it could happen to anyone, but it just goes to show if you're ever in a situation like this, they just don't care. Not even for faithful customers.
After being in the area for a bit...compared to other planet fitnesses, I am underwhelmed by the customer service here.  The customer service here shows that the "gymtimidation" motto of Planet Fitness isn't true.  I honestly chose Planet Fitness because of 2 things: the motto and the membership value.  I chose this gym brand, because I've had experience with feeling uncomfortable at the gym due to people approaching me uncomfortably, treating my time on machines as less valuable, etc
At my home Planet Fitness, I have had no issues.  However coming here, I experienced feeling uncomfortable.  I just started to use a machine and someone asks me if I am using it...of course I am?!  He then proceeds to stand within 2 feet of the machine with his arms crossed, legs apart, staring.  Unwilling to be "gymtimidated" (though maybe in the past I would have been intimidated to stop), I finished my 3 sets.  The issue with this is that I brought this up to the staff and the staff looked at me with annoyance, denied that was "gymtimidation," and turned away to ignore me.  The phone then rang and he looked away toward the ceiling averting my gaze.
