I've noticed a lot more of their machines seem to be breaking down. Now, it is expected since x amount of people use the machine every day, but some of them seem to be out of order for months on end. Even their TVs and their water fountain have been breaking down. I think it's going on 2 months since they removed the TV and it hasn't been replaced yet.
It's fine for workouts, but customer service is mediocre. I had a lot debit card, so I had to cancel it. They don't take credit cards or cash so I had to wait for the new card. I went to the club to update my card and explain, but they charged me a penalty on top of the monthly fee. I asked if there's anyone I could talk to, but they didn't want to bother. Honestly, it could happen to anyone, but it just goes to show if you're ever in a situation like this, they just don't care. Not even for faithful customers.
In October 2013, the company hired celebrity tattoo artist and Anytime Fitness member, Jimmy Hayden, to tattoo its purple running man logo on nearly 200 franchisees, corporate employees, club managers, and personal trainers at an annual conference. Members and employees have a history of getting the logo tattoo, with an estimated 4,000 individuals inking their bodies, including CEO Chuck Runyon. Anytime Fitness provides a tattoo artist at its monthly training events and covers all expenses. The company will also reimburse anyone who submits a photo of their tattoo of the logo and describe why they wanted the tattoo.
I was diagnosed with autism when I was 7 years old and I have been bullied badly, even out in public. So when I got my membership in March of 2013 I was scared of getting bullied. Been going since then and NOT ONCE have I gotten picked on. The staff doesn’t care. They watch out for me. They greet me with my first name. ‘Hi Jacob, how are you?’ I feel safe and I feel independent. I put on muscle. I LOVE Planet Fitness.
