In March 2016, Planet Fitness partnered with STOMP Out Bullying,[23] a national organization dedicated to bullying prevention, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to launch the company’s national philanthropic initiative, The Judgement Free Generation.[24] Also in 2016, the company donated more than $1 million to the program.[25][26][27] Planet Fitness has also provided mini "Judgement Free Zone" gyms to Boys & Girls Clubs in Manchester, New Hampshire[28] and Pasadena, California.[29]

Teenagers ages 15 - 18 can visit any Planet Fitness location in the United States and Canada. Online signups are not available. Teens under 18 must bring a parent/guardian to sign up. In 1993, the Grondahl brothers hired Chris Rondeau, Planet Fitness’ current CEO, to work the front desk. Rondeau and the Grondahls recognized that there was a greater opportunity to serve a much larger segment of the population if they changed the gym environment, both in attitude and format, by creating a non-intimidating, low-cost model.[5] Planet Fitness then became known as the "Judgement Free Zone," aimed more at the average user than the bodybuilder type of fitness enthusiast.[6] As early as March 2015, the "Judgement Free Zone" policy has been expanded to allow trans women to use the women's locker room. The policy states that "members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity."[7]
This gym is a joke. I thought my membership was cancel back in may but in june 13 i check they still charge me for the annual fee so i went in person and ask them why am i still being charged ? They just said oh did u signed anything i said yes i said on the screen thats it. Also my monthly payment is on june 17 so i asked them so am i still gonna get charge this month too and they said yes. Being charge due to your system fault ? What a joke. What a big disappointment with this gym after 3 years membership here. Never sign up planet fitness membership again nor recommend to anyone.

I was diagnosed with autism when I was 7 years old and I have been bullied badly, even out in public. So when I got my membership in March of 2013 I was scared of getting bullied. Been going since then and NOT ONCE have I gotten picked on. The staff doesn’t care. They watch out for me. They greet me with my first name. ‘Hi Jacob, how are you?’ I feel safe and I feel independent. I put on muscle. I LOVE Planet Fitness.
